[happy independence day]

Extra-special post today to make up for not posting yesterday. :)

I will tell you, I have been struggling with this post, trying to write something that I believe in, but it can be so hard sometimes. So instead of writing a poem or song, I am just going to write from my heart.

Hope is something often overlooked. We use it every day but it can be hard to find. We lose hope so many times in our lives. It is so hard to hope. But when you think about it, we would never be where we are today without hope. Without it, many people would have died because their doctors didn’t hope for them to be saved. If families just gave up when something bad happened to them, their family wouldn’t survive. During the Civil War, what would have happened if there wasn’t a hope for freedom? What would have happened if, instead of hoping, the people just gave up?  If our soldiers, years ago, didn’t have a hope for a free country, where would our country be now? Hope is what drives men to fight, a hope to give freedom to their families and their country. If not for hope, our whole world would be in ruin. But no, we have hope to drive us forward. And every Independence Day we celebrate the hope that powered us forward. We celebrate a hope for freedom that gave us that freedom. Not only a free government, but freedom of our religion. Freedom of who we believe in, and what we believe in. And that is a freedom worth fighting for.

What would the world be without Hope?

How would the stars shine as bright?

What would the world be without Hope

to guide us through the everyday fight?

What would the world be without Hope?

How would the moon hang in the sky?

What would the world be without Hope?

What would show me how to fly?

[entering here]

Happy Independence Day, everyone!
