[butterflies and lovelies]

I know I haven’t been posting as much lately, and I am very sorry–I haven’t gotten as much inspiration lately, I guess. And we’ve been a little busy. So to make up, I am leaving you with these pictures that I took of these magnificent butterflies!

Those pink flowers you see in most of the pictures are my mom’s zinnias. She called me into our backyard, and lo and behold, there were tons of butterflies and moths flying around and landing on them! It was so cool! Three of the black kind, one yellow butterfly, and two moths [the orange ones.]

The other pictures with the yellow swallowtail were taken a couple days prior. It was the most amazing yellow swallowtail I had ever seen, with that blue on the lower part of its wings. It was amazing! Oh, and the flowers featured are called yellow lantana.

Enjoy! Click on the pictures to view, scroll through, and comment on them! :D

Each picture has its own comment box, and each photo has it’s number in the title of the photo if you wish to refer to it. Hope you like them!
love, Hannah

Oh, and I’m entering this into Rachel’s photo contest! [she was so sweet to base it after a poem I wrote for her!]

[happy independence day]

Extra-special post today to make up for not posting yesterday. :)

I will tell you, I have been struggling with this post, trying to write something that I believe in, but it can be so hard sometimes. So instead of writing a poem or song, I am just going to write from my heart.

Hope is something often overlooked. We use it every day but it can be hard to find. We lose hope so many times in our lives. It is so hard to hope. But when you think about it, we would never be where we are today without hope. Without it, many people would have died because their doctors didn’t hope for them to be saved. If families just gave up when something bad happened to them, their family wouldn’t survive. During the Civil War, what would have happened if there wasn’t a hope for freedom? What would have happened if, instead of hoping, the people just gave up?  If our soldiers, years ago, didn’t have a hope for a free country, where would our country be now? Hope is what drives men to fight, a hope to give freedom to their families and their country. If not for hope, our whole world would be in ruin. But no, we have hope to drive us forward. And every Independence Day we celebrate the hope that powered us forward. We celebrate a hope for freedom that gave us that freedom. Not only a free government, but freedom of our religion. Freedom of who we believe in, and what we believe in. And that is a freedom worth fighting for.

What would the world be without Hope?

How would the stars shine as bright?

What would the world be without Hope

to guide us through the everyday fight?

What would the world be without Hope?

How would the moon hang in the sky?

What would the world be without Hope?

What would show me how to fly?

[entering here]

Happy Independence Day, everyone!

Some recent photography of mine for you to enjoy!!!

Calla-lily I told you about! Isn’t it beautiful?

An amazing flower……

Note: our backyard in background

Puppy + window seat = Cute!!!

I’m entering the one above [here]! It’s a window/door photo challenge at Designed to Inspire, and I thought this would be perfect: a cute puppy in a windowseat!

Coco loves to sit in my–scuse me, our  (it used to be mine, but when we got her I have to squeeze in. :P )–windowseat and look out at the people/things going by, and barks at most of them. As I’m typing this she’s there now. :) She loves to sleep in the sun coming in as well.

Swallowtail butterfly hanging on the screen of our screen porch this afternoon–I saw it out the door and yelled to my brother “GET YOUR CAMERA!!!” And I got some great pictures too!

It opened its wings for me….isn’t it beautiful?

The day before I had actually chased this butterfly around our yard trying to get a photo. And then it shows up right in front of me!

Love this one above! The photo focused right on its wings.

Hope you enjoyed! :D Please comment and tell me what you think!
